Using the Reporting Dashboard – Complaints: Good Practice in Places of Deprivation of Liberty

Published:

At its most recent meeting, the UK NPM Steering Group had the opportunity to hear from colleagues at the Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC). Angela O’Hagan and Eleanor Deeming presented the Commission’s newest report on Access to Justice for Prisoners in Scotland, which highlights serious concerns regarding the current complaints system.

In light of the SHRC’s concerning findings, the Steering Group turned its attention to identifying examples of good practice in complaints. The NPM Central Team demonstrated the power of the Reporting Dashboard by locating relevant examples of good practice in complaints in all of 30 seconds!

To showcase the capabilities of the Dashboard, and its effectiveness in supporting thematic analysis, we are pleased to share the below document, “Complaints: Good Practice in Places of Deprivation of Liberty”,. This resource highlights how the Dashboard can be used to quickly and easily identify and share examples of good practice across the NPM’s work.
