Blog: UK NPM Reporting Dashboard Launch
The UK NPM is thrilled to announce the launch of our groundbreaking new Reporting Dashboard. The first of its kind, this tool will bring together and codify all UK NPM findings in one accessible platform, offering public access to the collective insight of more than 3500 monitors working across the UK’s places of detention.
As a multi-body NPM, thousands of recommendations are made every year across our 21 bodies. Until now, these findings have only been accessible through individual reports or organisation websites, making it difficult to see the bigger picture or share effective solutions. The Reporting Dashboard transforms this by providing a central space that consolidates all UK NPM data in real time, helping to identify trends, challenges and areas of improvement across detention settings.
This tool was designed with everyone in mind, from NPM monitors to oversight bodies, civil society, policymakers and anyone working to improve conditions in places of deprivation of liberty.
Beyond its core purpose of serving as a central system for UK NPM findings, a key feature of the Reporting Dashboard is its ability to facilitate knowledge sharing. For example, a prison governor can quickly access a list of recommendations or best practices from other prisons across the UK. This kind of knowledge exchange could encourage the adoption of more successful strategies and can drive meaningful improvements in detention.
Additionally, the Reporting Dashboard allows users to download tailored reports on specific establishments, nations, populations and more, making it easier to compile evidence for reports, advocacy or business cases.
By bringing together findings from all UK NPM bodies, the Reporting Dashboard also fosters greater collaboration and learning, enabling organisations to review each other’s observations and recommendations. This collective insight supports the development of clearer, more actionable, and impactful recommendations in the future.
Below are some sneak peeks of the Reporting Dashboard, showcasing its intuitive interface and powerful data exploration capabilities.
