Register now: NPM Recommendations Dashboard Launch
The UK NPM is pleased to announce an online Launch Event for our groundbreaking new database on Wednesday 20th of August at 11am BST.
Each year, the UK NPM generates over 5,000 recommendations across 21 independent bodies. For the first time, this tool brings together and codifies all those findings, offering public access to the collective insight of more than 3,500 monitors working across the UK’s places of detention.
At this launch event, you’ll:
- Hear from the team behind the database
- See a live demonstration of how to explore and interact with the data
- Have the chance to ask questions and take part in discussion
You will also hear from an expert panel of speakers from across sectors, who will share how the database will support and enhance their work.
- Dr Elina Steinerte, Vice Chair of NPMs, Subcommittee on the Prevention of Torture
- Rob Linham OBE, Ministry of Justice
- Chief Inspector Jacqui Durkin, Criminal Justice Inspection Northern Ireland
- Professor Nick Hardwick, Royal Holloway University of London
- Alice O’Fee, Robiquity
This tool is designed for NPM monitors, oversight bodies, civil society, policymakers, and anyone with an interest in improving conditions in places of deprivation of liberty and is a significant step forward in our ability to fulfil our mandate.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and we invite you to share this invitation with colleagues and other interested parties.
