On 6 September 2023, the UK NPM hosted a roundtable on deaths in detention. A range of stakeholders participated, including:

  • NPM member organisations
  • Ombudspersons
  • Independent experts
  • Other stakeholders across the UK

This document is based on the day’s discussion and summarises the key themes that arose throughout the roundtable. Reflecting on the points raised, the NPM Secretariat has made a series of suggested recommendations related to each theme.
